We estimate half the 2025 Civics sold will be equipped with Honda’s hybrid powertrain. Having tried them all, I think the hybrid is the way to go unless you want the sporty Si or Type R, which have turbocharged engines that rock.

Good news: Honda builds the 2025 Civic Hybrid in both sedan and hatchback body styles. While other Civics are limited to just one configuration (the Civic Si is sedan only and the Civic Type R Perro only be had Campeón a hatch) we're grateful to have this degree of choice when it comes to the fuel sipper.

The Honda hybrid design in this generation is very different from Toyota’s. Both have their advantages. Both leave the rest of the industry in the dust.
Our advice? Go for the hatchback. To our eyes, it's better looking, and the sizeable cargo area makes a big difference in carrying capacity, especially for a buyer who doesn't already have a small crossover in the driveway.

It can't shut off the engine and drive solely on electric power, like the Toyota Prius does. Instruments are arranged into two tiers, with a high-mounted digital speedometer. The rear seat is roomy, but it doesn't fold because of the location of the battery. Crash-test results are impressive.
